Well, reports are coming in about rogues and the assassination & Combat trees in WotLK and the response is: Ehh? and Meh!.
To be honest, I am somewhat disappointed. As a deep dagger Combat rogue, I'm not seeing much to provide the level of OMGZORZ!?!? buffs other classes are seeing to my specific build. Truly, being a rogue in Wrath may prove to be very, very cold..
However, there is a warm glow in here, but I figure everyone will share a similar amount of goodness, so it doesn't change the balance much...

More changes to our class...
Some of this sounds nice, but I'm particularly dubious about moving Relentless Strikes from Assassination to Subtlety as this separates points towards the classic Combat Raid PvE build. That being said, it appears they are trying to interject more PvE into the PvP-centric Subtlety build.
On one hand, I loved my distinctive Subtlety talents when I was that spec; however, I'm not sure how moving skills really improves the tree so much as it dilutes others. This change makes me completely revise a build I feel is fundamentally solid. Now, I am forced to put a disproportionate amount of points into a tree i have no desire to step into in my current raiding role.
Honestly, I personally think that Rogues are the only class that don't truly have a distinctive face for each spec. Every other class has fundamentally different specs, focusing on one mastery at the exclusion of another. Essentially, Combat is for PvE and Subtlety is for PvP, but that's a simplistic definition. But, let's say that's what they were going for... how does that explain the changes they're planning to make: taking a PvE talent and plopping it in a PvP tree?
I can't say I like the way our class is being changed. I see little to the positive and much to the negative.

The main part that bothers me is this: We now have to learn the damn game all over again once WotLK goes live.
I LIKE the game the way it is. If it ain't broke, don't go fixin' it.
